A Tuesday in the park Plus Haydock park details.

Whilst in the park on Tuesday, found these boats being sailed by members in the nice hot sunshine. Though there wasn't much wind for the yachts everyone was in high spirits with the weather, with comments like "I can decorate when it's raining" and "the grass will still be there when I get home" my sentiments entirely!.

 Alan's fishing boat

David S's coast guard cutter, good turn of speed though only on 6Volts

Dave Lees warship USS Iowa

A nice Fiesta sailed by Andrew Spencer.

 Eric's dragon force.

Last but not least a small flotilla of late arrival babies a bit further down the lake away from the hussle and bussle of the crowds.

Next big event

Details

Haydock Park Racecourse - 23/24th Aug. 2014
Theme of this year is Naval Vessels and Submarines

Exhibitions and shows are coming thick and fast at this time of year, the next big one is the above show. They are a little stricter than most so everyone needs to be aware of the procedure if they intend to go and/or exhibit.
Exhibiting
If you are exhibiting on our club stand you will need separate passes for Saturday and Sunday, please see me. Boats should be delivered to the stand on Friday between 3.p.m, and 7.p.m., or on Saturday morning between 9 and 9.30.a.m. and should not depart until after the closing ceremony on Sunday.
Disabled parking will need to be applied for beforehand, again see me. Your disabled badge will also need to be displayed.
There are a number of competitions at the convention, all boats must have been made by the entrant. Anyone wanting to enter the various classes, please see me for details or maps to get there etc. as details must be submitted in advance of the show by 9th Aug.
Also I need to have all details of boats that you intend to exhibit, I will try and get as much as possible on club night but please contact me if necessary. Do remember that you just can’t turn up on the day if you are exhibiting, I need to know in advance so that I can send in their forms.
I have been asked by the organisers to remind all members that only a pass will provide free entrance to the show, and that only exhibitors will be provided with a pass. Being a member is not an automatic qualification for a pass.
The show itself is open between 10.a.m. and 5.pm. both days. Refreshments and snacks are available on site, as are disabled facilities. Admission is £6 for adults (without a pass), £2 for children 5-16 and free for under 5’s.
Please see me if you need any more information or want to give me details of your exhibits – remember naval boats or subs’ only.

Gordon Longworth – Exhibition Sec.

I know it is not for a few weeks yet, but I have to have all the paperwork to them by 9th Aug.

Details will be in Tabs under the header until after the event!.
